Discovering consumers’ cookie preferences

In a controlled facility over one day, we tested the two different recipes for two popular cookie variations. First, consumers tasted each cookie and answered a series of questions about the cookie’s appeal, ingredients, taste, texture, quality, smell, and purchase interest. Then, they were asked to compare the two coconut recipes for each variation.
Overall, the consumers were more likely to recommend, purchase, and prefer the new recipe than the original recipe. These results gave the company the much-needed reassurance to continue with production.
