On behalf of Smartmatic, we conducted an online survey of 1,004 voters with disabilities to gain insight into their experience at the polls and explore ways both technology and election officials could better meet their needs.
Smartmatic learned that it’s not people that stand in the way of voters with disabilities, but technology. They subsequently rolled out a strategic media campaign on National Voter Registration Day to highlight the issue and bring attention to the solution.

Using Technology To Help Voters With Disabilities
Challenge: In 2018, only 49.3% of Americans with disabilities voted. It is an American’s right to be able to vote in each election–but this particular population have experienced difficulties and challenges inhibiting their ability to vote to their full rights.
