Challenge: We wanted to explore how women feel about promoting themselves — and we found through a quantitative survey that, well, many don’t love it. So we decided to talk to real women to understand why some of them have a hard time celebrating themselves.
Approach: We got online with eight real women of varying backgrounds and asked them to tell us about their accomplishments. In the process, we learned about their motivations, goals and fears around promoting themselves. And we learned that talking about those was helpful.
Result: We are just getting started! We hope to bring awareness to what we’re calling the “Self-Promotion Gap.”
